See Details: The presidency is broke, we can’t fund Independence Day celebration – Chief of Staff

According to current reports, the Presidency will not provide any financial assistance to organize this year’s Independence Day celebrations, as has been the case in previous years.

Under a ‘wireless message’ to all Regional Ministers (RMs) and their Regional Coordinating Councils, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Head of Labor, said the country was in a state of emergency (RMCs).

He added that as the president was working on a small budget, he could not provide financial assistance to the districts in celebration of Freedom Day.

Nigerians Want to Join Ukrainian Fight Russia Must Pay $ 1000 Visa – Ukrainian Government Warns

Nigerians who have shown interest in joining Ukrainian troops to fight the Russians invading their territory have been told they will not go to Ukraine for free.

A handful of Nigerian men gathered this week at the Ukrainian Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, to offer their services to the Ukrainian army.

It is believed that they were responding to a recent call by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, urging people around the world to join the war.

At the Ukrainian embassy in Abuja, Nigerian volunteers were asked to write their name in a register provided by the embassy.

However, Nigerian volunteers have been informed that they will have to provide $ 1,000 for their visa and a ticket to Ukraine.

With Ukraine’s airport closed due to war, Nigerians wishing to join the Ukrainian army cannot fly straight to the country. They would have to fly to any country bordering Ukraine and into Ukraine from there.

Volunteers were told that this would cost money, at least $ 1,000.
This did not bode well for the volunteers, many of whom said they could not afford the money and actually joined the fundraising campaign.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has scheduled a date for the Junior High School (JHS) curriculum commonly called the Common Core Curriculum (CCP).

The three-day non-residential workshop will begin on January 12th and end on January 14th, 2022, according to the service.

Teachers who have been released or transferred by the Ghana Education Service, on the other hand, are unsure where to go for the upcoming CCP curriculum training workshop.

According to Mr Yaw Opoku Mensah, the Deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Education (MoE), he hinted that teachers who have been currently transferred to new districts are to have the training in their old districts as their data is still with the old district.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page, he addressed that teachers who just received their transfer or release letters are to train in their former district. This is because the old district will continue to validate the released or transferred teacher for some time

He further added that JHS Headteachers should inform their teachers to prepare themselves for the impending workshop and also urged Headteachers to inform all teachers on release to come back to participate in the workshop.
