The #FixTheCountry hashtag has dominated headlines in the past week. This is been advanced by disgruntled Ghanaians – mostly youth who says their leaders have failed them.

This movement, which has gained support from all quarters of the political divide, led to resolve for some protests on the streets of Accra on May 9 although the protest didn’t come off due to injunction.

The agenda is been spearhead by Ghana’s finest social media sensation in the person of Efia Odo born Andrea Owusu. But from the look of things, Efia Odo and her cohorts won’t achieve their aim to #FixTheCountry”, Nhyira FM’s Ruthy has envisaged.

According to Ruthy who is a showbiz critic on the Nhyira Fm Entertainment Power Show, the lifestyle of the Efia Odo who is acting as #FixTheCountry ambassador will render the aim of the movement Cos 90!

Taking to her official Facebook page, Ruthy wrote,

“Quick One:

“After several years spent outside Ghana, Efia Odo’s introduction into the creative art space has always been linked to “indecent exposure or inappropriate outfit by an actress”!

“So, it’s no surprise that the genuineness of her plea in the ongoing #FixTheCountry campaign has been sidelined as most Ghanaians including some politicians questioning the “moral lifestyle” of Efia Odo instead of the situation at hand.

“Remember that in our community or society, we place much value on the “acceptable culture” in all our dealings.

“Although Efia Odo isn’t far from right for churning out her displeasure in the incumbent NPP’s administration via #FixTheCountry mantra.

“Going forward, I advise all celebs and “wanna be celebs” to live a decent life since they are role models” for young ones and might raise the genuine concern of Ghanaian problem but their outward character will be scrutinized first as in the case of Efia Odo.

“To conclude, I’m afraid Efia Odo’s #FixTheCountry campaign will be Cos90 because of her lifestyle…”

Checkout: Fuel prices may increase before October ends – NPA

Projections from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) suggests that fuel prices in the country may surge close to GH¢ 6.86 per litre at the pumps if all other factors influencing pricing do not change.
According to Abass Ibrahim Tasunti, the Head of Pricing at the NPA, the second pricing window for October puts the price of petrol at GH¢6.84 per litre while diesel will likely sell at GH¢6.86 per litre starting October 16, 2021, baring any changes on the world oil market.

These projections do not take into account the margins of oil marketing companies and that of the bulk distribution companies, which may cause the projected amounts to go higher while statutory taxes and margins remain the same.

“All things being equal, for the next window, [since] the price of petrol on the world market has increased by about 9% and diesel has increased by about 10%, so these two, holding everything constant will project that petrol will increase by about 5% and diesel also increase around the same figure which will take us to about GH¢6.84 for petrol and GH¢6.86 for diesel… This is the next window, which starts from the 16th of October,” he said on Citi TV’s The Point of View.

Multiple Award Winning Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has revealed how she is being blackmailed by someone who claims to have her sextape with her boyfriend.

“The first thing I did after I got off the phone was that I sent it to my manager and asked what we should do.The person is asking for money now. The person I am dating is going crazy too.My manager asked how much the person is asking for. “ she said in a recent interview.

The singer further added that she has decided not to pay those blackmailing her for ‘doing something natural.’

“I decided I was not going to pay the person because if I do, two months from now, three months down the line or even two years later, you are going to come back again. Who knows, if I send the money, the person will probably release it. I am not going to let anyone blackmail me for doing something natural.” She added.

The singer further stressed that she will not give a dime to her blackmailers. Savage stated that she could release the video herself because she is ‘that crazy’.

“No part of me wants to pay the person. That is what is getting me angry. If you want to put it out, put it out. I am that crazy that I can put it out myself. You are not making any money from me. This was an intimate moment with someone I am dating. The person I am dating is not famous, he is a regular guy and his whole business is about to be out. He is more concerned about me because he knows that I am going to be more affected. My mother and my son having to see it. I am going to talk to my son about it.

“For me, it is when he is older at about 15 and someone is rude to him at the playground and they make reference to the tape. I have to brace him up.”

The Afrobeats queen noted that the video was not from her team; rather, she said, it was accidentally posted on Snapchat by her lover who deleted it immediately when he realised the error. However, it was too late.

She said, “It is not from someone working closely with me.

“What happened is that the person did it on Snap and he posted it by accident, but he quickly deleted it.

“However, someone got it before he could delete it. It is a very short video, but it is me. It is going to be out there and I can just imagine the memes. I just found out yesterday. I could not sleep last night.
