Once again, the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta, presenting the 2022 budget statement and economic policy to Parliament on Wednesday, 17 November 2021, that more than 67,000 students will not be retrenched.
Mr Ofori-Atta said the ‘YouStart program’ and the ‘Digital Inclusion Program’ would gradually absorb collections during the next financial year.
According to him, through this program, the government will support the beneficiaries to access finance, training, technical skills, and training so that they can establish and establish their own businesses.
“The NABCo program was designed as an intermediate step for new three-year graduates. Over the past three years, 100,000 new students have benefited from the NABCo program.
“With more than 33,000 trainees already employed, the government will work to ensure that the remaining NABCo trainees are successfully supported to utilize YouStart’s gifts of opportunity,” he assured.
